KORI LEVOS SKIDMORE
Psychologist
Dr. Skidmore’s interest in psychology grew from her family’s experience adopting three children and providing foster and respite care, including for children with developmental disabilities. She majored in psychology at Hope College in Holland, Michigan, then earned a doctorate in clinical psychology, specializing in children, from Loyola University Chicago in 1996.
Dr. Skidmore spent eight years at Chicago’s Children’s Memorial Hospital (now Lurie Children’s Hospital), progressing from intern to postdoctoral fellow to full-time staff. She focused on developmental and neuropsychological testing, first in Special Infectious Diseases and later in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
Dr. Skidmore opened her Oak Park, Illinois, private practice in 2003, offering psychotherapy and standardized evaluations for children and teens. Since 2014, she has focused on providing therapy for teenagers and adults as well as on working with parents who are dealing with attention learning or behavior issues with their child.
In 2025, Dr. Skidmore transitioned her practice to virtual services. She now provides therapy and parent consultation remotely, offering clients greater flexibility and access to care.
